Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is a mental illness which causes people continue repetitive behaviours. People suffering from OCD continuously feel the urge to check things and perform the same tasks. Common examples are people who repeatedly check the door lock, repeatedly washing hands, counting of things etc. The exact cause of OCD is unknown, but it can result from genetic disorders, child abuse, stress-inducing events etc. OCD is more common in women than men. The symptoms of OCD start appearing from young adulthood. Stress can make the symptoms of OCD more intense and worse. Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) has been widely used for treatment of OCD.
